Chemical structure and properties
Structural composition: MPEG7-SC is composed of methoxy heptaglycol (mPEG7) and succinimide carbonate (SC) linked by ester bonds. The PEG component offers excellent water solubility and biocompatibility, while the SC component, as an active functional group, can react with the primary amine group (-NH₂) to form a stable carbamate bond.
Physical properties: Usually solid or powder, the specific form depends on the molecular weight. It has good water solubility and can be dissolved in many organic solvents.
